在图像处理和识别的过程中，目标边缘作为图像的一个重要特征，起着很重要的作用。但在图像的获取过程中，不可避免地会带来噪声，加上各种干扰的存在，使目标的图像边缘比较模糊，对提取效果造成影响。针对图像边缘提取的实际应用情况，我们提出了采用自适应中值滤波和小波分解与重构的蚁群边缘处理算法，通过大量实验表明，该算法对噪声有较好的抑制作用，取得了良好的边缘提取效果。
